The FASB-IASB Conceptual Framework and Revenue Recognition Projects: A Critical Response

This seminar deals with two projects currently on the agenda of the IASB and FASB. The first is the Conceptual Framework project where the two Boards are trying to establish a new foundation under which they will operate in the future. The second is the revenue recognition project where the Boards are considering a "customer consideration model and a "measurement model (and are leaning towards the former). The two papers for the seminar are the product of the American Accounting Association Financial Accounting Standards Committee. They reach quite different conclusions than the Boards on these issues.
