Junior faculty members often find it difficult to create an interesting research topic. If they are lucky to find it, they may still wonder how to motivate the paper. In Seminar 1, we are going to discuss techniques to overcome these difficulties. We will then browse through a set of classic capital market research papers to see how the techniques would have been applied in developing those papers.
