APPLICATION PROCESS OF VISITING PHD STUDENTS
The School of Accountancy (SOA) at Singapore Management University hosts visiting PhD students in exceptional cases subject to resources constraints (e.g., office space). The school does not offer any monetary compensation for these visits. The visiting students need to ensure that they have sufficient funds to support their stay in Singapore.
- Application deadlines:
- We start to accept applications from 1 April until 30 April for visits that start in August of the same year.
- We start to accept applications from 1 September until 30 September for visits that start in January of next year.
- Application materials:
- Your current CV.
- A request for a specific timeframe for your visit including beginning and end date (between six months to one year).
- A brief statement from a tenue-track faculty member at SOA agreeing to serve as your advisor while you are with us.
- A concrete working plan with our SOA faculty member.
- A recommendation letter from a faculty member at your home institution.
- Please e-mail the required documents to Mr. Benny Teo (soa_phd@smu.edu.sg) by the specified cut-off dates. We only review the requests twice a year. Please refrain from sending ad-hoc requests to our faculty members.
