SMU was one of the youngest institutions globally to have earned the business and accounting accreditation from AACSB International (AACSB). SMU is also one of seven universities in Asia Pacific to achieve this dual accreditation. AACSB Accreditation is known, worldwide, as the longest standing, most recognised form of specialised/professional accreditation an institution and its business programmes can earn.

ACCELERATED PATHWAYS TO PROFESSIONAL ACCOUNTING QUALIFICATIONS

The SMU Bachelor of Accountancy (BAcc) programme enjoys the maximum exemptions offered by the various professional accounting bodies. Graduates of the BAcc programme are able to acquire their preferred professional accounting qualification in the shortest amount of time possible.

The BAcc programme receives the maximum exemptions of 8 out of the 11 examination modules in the Singapore Chartered Accountant Qualification programme

Lastly, the BAcc programme has the distinction of being the first accounting programme in Singapore to receive exemption in the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (ISCA) Financial Forensic Accounting Qualification, which enables graduates to earn the ISCA Financial Forensic Professional (FFP) credential.
