Industry Research

The SOAR industry research arm aims to convert academic insights into solutions which address practice- and policy-relevant problems, bridging the worlds of the scholar, the industry practitioner, and the policymaker. Our scholars collaborate widely with industry leaders and regulators on research projects addressing emerging issues in Singapore and the Asia-Pacific Region. For example, Assistant Professor Clarence Goh is leading a joint research project with researchers from KPMG, SIT, and NUS, on the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the way of working, digital skillsets, and business resilience. Professor Gary Pan, Associate Professor Seow Poh Sun, and Prof Goh recently published a new book, in collaboration with CPA Australia, addressing critical issues in the digital transformation of accounting and finance. We encourage you to explore the SOAR website for more examples and details of our industry research projects.

SOAR also provides various platforms for scholars and practitioners to exchange thoughts and perspectives, such as public lecture series, professional development programmes and academic-industry conferences. In particular, on 8th October, 2021, we will host the inaugural Conference on Digital Transformation of Financial Markets. The conference will feature leading industry and academic experts to provide insights into the issues and opportunities that may arise due to digital transformation.
