Benjamin is recognised in the Forensic Accountants chapter of Who’s Who Legal: Investigations and an experienced forensic accounting investigator, compliance advisor and a qualified Chartered Accountant with over 20 years of experience, of which, seven years were spent in Beijing. He is also a regular speaker at conferences in Singapore and China as a subject matter expert, and an appointed forensic accounting expert for Trade Excellence (https://www.tradeexcellence.org/pages/our-team), a non-profit, non-partisan organization dedicated to empowering individuals, organizations, and academic institutions with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in the field of export controls and trade.

Understanding Forensic Accounting Investigations and Fraud

Dr. Benjamin Lee earned his PhD in Management (Strategy and Technology Management) from Adam Smith Business School, University of Glasgow. His research interests are in the adoption of AIDA technologies to solve accounting problems such as cashflow management, cost allocation, credit risk analysis, financial forecasting, fraud prediction, and inventory control.  He has actively shared about the SMU-X learning approach at various conferences and seminars as well as in his May 2022 TED talk titled “Finding our Place in an AI World”.

Prior to joining SMU, he was a consulting data analyst at the Accountant-General’s Department (Singapore) working on applying machine learning to improve internal auditing processes.

Dr Goh previously led the Asia-Pacific Corporate Research team at Jones Lang LaSalle (Corporate Solutions) and held roles at Deutsche Bank, Barclays Capital, and the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants. Clarence earned his PhD in Accounting and a Bachelor of Accountancy (First Class Honours) from Nanyang Technological University. He is a Fellow of CPA Australia, a Chartered Accountant of Singapore, and a member of the American Accounting Association.

Gurdip, formerly the President & CEO of Crescendas MEC Group for 20 years, led its expansion across Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, and China and earned 5 consecutive Enterprise 50 Awards. With a Bachelor of Accountancy (Honours) from Singapore University, he has held senior roles globally, including as Regional Financial Director of Molex Inc and President & CEO of Crescendas MEC. Active in the community, he serves as Chairman of Singapore Khalsa Association Board of Trustees, Vice President of Central Sikh Gurdwara Board, and Chairman of Sikh Centre, Singapore. Currently, he is an Adjunct Faculty at Singapore Management University, teaching Corporate Financial Management.

He Jianzhong is passionate about helping students bridge the gap between accounting theory and the fast-changing world of digital finance and accounting. With a background in industry, he brings a practical, real-world perspective into the classroom. He is especially interested in how emerging technologies like AI and LLMs can be used securely and cost effectively in small and medium-sized businesses. He currently teaches courses in programming, robotic process automation and financial digital transformation with a strong emphasis on hands-on learning that is practical, engaging, and future-ready. Whether it’s building robots, designing dashboards, or solving real business challenges, his goal is to equip students with the skills and confidence to thrive in the digital workplace and drive finance digital transformation.

Irene, a former Risk and Regulatory Consulting Partner at a Big 4 firm, brings extensive industry expertise to education. With numerous thought leadership articles on regulatory and data governance, she enriches students with practical knowledge. Liu serves on Singapore Management University's Data and Analytics Board and teaches data governance in the MSA program. As co-Chair of the EDM Council Women Data Professionals APAC Board, she drives global data standards. Her presence elevates students' workplace readiness and empowers them in diverse ways.

Dr. Yuanto Kusnadi is an Associate Professor (Education) at the School of Accountancy of the Singapore Management University. Dr. Kusnadi has over 10 years’ academia experience in financial accounting, managerial accounting, financial management, and analytics for financial instruments. He has been doing applied research on issues in corporate finance, accounting, and corporate governance for international firms. His research papers have been published in prestigious international journals such as Journal of Business, Journal of Corporate Finance, Journal of Business Ethics, and more. Dr. Kusnadi served on the programme selection committee of several international conferences. His research has also been profiled in the Straits Times, the Business Times, Lianhe Zaobao, SGSME, the New Paper, Asian Scientist, and the CFA Digest.
