The Immersion Programmes combines real-world learning with international exposure, allowing participants to experience education, culture, and daily life in a global setting. Through immersive learning experiences, cultural exploration, and cross-border collaboration, the program promotes personal growth, global competence, and a deeper understanding of the world.

The SMU Global Immersion Programme showed me that meaningful learning happens through new experiences, diverse perspectives, and genuine connections.
The SMU Global Immersion Programme was an unforgettable experience. Winning the business pitch competition made it even more special, but what I value most is everything I learned along the way, from working with my teammates to meeting new people and gaining new perspectives. I'm truly grateful for the opportunity and will always remember this experience. 🙇♂️
As a student who had the privilege of participating in SMU Global Immersion Programme, this experience has been truly transformative for me. In the final days leading up to the competition, I learned the importance of intense preparation, resilience, and staying focused under pressure. Beyond the competition itself, I gained invaluable insights and lessons from Professor Yuanto Kusnadi, whose guidance deeply inspired me. Furthermore, this event allowed me to expand my network, connecting with many wonderful peers and building meaningful friendships along the way. One quote that deeply resonates with me and guided me through this journey is: ‘Your weaknesses do not make you weak; as long as you are willing to strive and work hard, you can always overcome them.’
Joining the Global Immersion Programme at SMU was such an amazing experience. I had so much fun while learning many new things that I had never been taught at my school before. My favorite part was learning about accounting and financial management. Although my school introduced me to these subjects, the lessons at SMU went much deeper, which made me even more interested and excited to learn. The six days I spent at SMU were truly unforgettable. Besides gaining valuable knowledge, I also had the chance to meet new friends, work with people from different backgrounds, and challenge myself through teamwork. Winning with my group made the experience even more meaningful and showed me how much we can achieve by working together. SMU is a very modern and inspiring university, and being part of this programme has motivated me to continue exploring the world of business. I’m truly grateful for this opportunity, and it is an experience I will always remember.
The SMU camp was an incredibly fun and unforgettable experience with all the educational lessons and meaningful friendships I made; along with the extraordinary experiences I gained during the competition. This camp taught me many important skills, including communication, collaboration, leadership, confidence, and, most importantly, responsibility. Winning this competition made me truly proud of our team. It felt as though the late nights, stressful moments, hard work, dedication, and patience had finally paid off. Overall, this memorable experience has certainly had a lasting impact on me; inspiring me to continue to develop these skills and step out of my comfort zone. I am immensely grateful to have been part of this wonderful camp and I will always cherish the memories, friendships, and lessons I gained from it.

At first when I arrived at the competition, I was so homesick and felt kind of nervous. By day two, I can say that everyone was so friendly and somehow, we got along so well. Afterwards, even though it was kind of a distressing experience because we had to work with our team until morning, honestly, it was a very memorable experience. I remember those late nights where we shared foods, opinions, and our thoughts. We even had a pool party which made us receive five noise complaints, but it was worth it. I will probably sign up for the competition again next year because I received a lot of knowledge, experiences, and friendship from it.
