ACADEMIC APPOINTMENTS

The School of Accountancy at Singapore Management University seeks faculty candidates in the following categories:

  1. TENURED OR TENURE TRACK FACULTY

  • A PhD in accounting
  • Demonstrate significant achievements or potential in scholarly research
  • Demonstrate ability or promise in teaching excellence, both in undergraduate and graduate courses
  1. PRACTICE FACULTY

  • A PhD in accounting
  • Managerial level work experience in the industry and/or active connections to professional bodies
  • Commitment to be actively involved in applied research and industry engagements
  • Demonstrate ability or promise in teaching excellence, both in undergraduate and graduate courses
  1. EDUCATION FACULTY

  • A PhD in accounting
  • Commitment to be actively involved in pedagogical development and related research
  • Demonstrate ability or promise in teaching excellence, both in undergraduate and graduate courses

Since its first intake of undergraduate students in August 2001, the School of Accountancy has grown from strength to strength. Today, the School of Accountancy has a student population of over 1000, consisting of Accountancy undergraduates and Master students. REMUNERATION AND BENEFITS

SMU offers internationally competitive remuneration and assistance to international faculty to help them take up their appointments in Singapore. Details of remuneration and compensation are provided to candidates during the recruitment process, however the following may provide a guide.

  • 9-month academic year
  • research support
  • medical insurance
  • provident fund contributions, or service gratuity (for non-Singapore citizens or permanent residents)
  • housing subsidy (for international faculty members)
  • schooling subsidy (for children of international faculty members)
  • relocation assistance and support (for international faculty members)
