ASoc Mentoring Scheme

Crossing into tertiary education can be a daunting task. Faced with a myriad of information, such as the university’s curriculum, which clubs and societies to join, and new classroom learning styles, freshmen may find themselves drowning in a sea of information. Mindful of the difficulties that freshmen face in a new learning environment, the ASoc Mentoring Scheme seeks to help freshmen adjust to university life at a more personal level.

All Freshmen are automatically enrolled into the ASoc Mentoring Scheme, where an SoA senior will be attached to them as a mentor for their first semester in SMU.

With assistance from ASoc, mentors will share their own university experiences and valuable advice to assist mentees in making informed decisions and making the best of their time in SMU. Mentoring groups will get the opportunity to forge close bonds with one another too!
