Message from the Dean

As the number 1 accounting school in Asia, since its inception, the School of Accountancy of Singapore Management University (SMU) has a mission to develop business leaders with global mindset and regional impact.

With the fantastic economic growth of China in the last four decades and China’s Belt and Road Initiative, Singapore has forged a closer relationship with China. At the same time, the US-China trade war and COVID-19 brought unprecedented challenges and uncertainties. Under such circumstances, how to grow the business to the next level, how to adapt to and thrive in the challenges, and how to play a more important role in the global landscape are important issues faced with all business leaders. To help these business leaders to find the answers to these important questions, SMU School of Accountancy collaborated with the School of Management of Zhejiang University and launched the Doctor of Business Administration (Accounting & Finance) Program.

The DBA (Accounting & Finance) Program is designed for entrepreneurs and senior executives. The program will equip you with the most recent advancement in management, accounting, and finance, help you to develop analytical thinking and research skills, and guide you to conduct practice-driven research that can shed light on, and contribute to, the business practices and government policies.

I am confident that through this program, you will acquire new skills, create new knowledge, and foster new friendship with other business leaders. This program will be a springboard for you to achieve greater height.
