MPA Commemorates its 20th Year by Giving Back
As the Master of Professional Accounting (MPA) programme celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, the MPA SMU Accounting Masters Ambassador Committee (SAMAC) decided to commemorate this significant milestone by giving back to the community.
In July 2026, the MPA SAMAC organised a 2-day a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to pack and distribute care packs, bentos and drinks to construction workers at Meyer Road. They rallied more than 20 faculty, staff, alumni and students from the School of Accountancy to pack 220 care packs in campus on 8 July. Each pack consisted of instant coffee, instant tea, sweets, soap, towels and a hand-written postcard designed by MPA students.

On the following afternoon, the MPA SAMAC, Professor of Accounting Wang Jiwei (Associate Dean, Postgraduate Professional Programmes) and Senior Lecturer of Accounting Prasart Jongjaroenkamol (MPA Programme Director), delivered and distributed the 220 care packs, together with bento meals, drinks and fruits, to 220 construction workers at the Meyer Road construction site.

This meaningful initiative was a small gesture of appreciation for the dedication and hard work of these migrant workers who play a vital role in the development of Singapore's infrastructure. It was also a valuable reminder to our MPA community to continue making a positive impact in society as they grow into future leaders of the accounting and business profession.
