On 12 November 2025, SMU hosted the inaugural SMU Alumni Awards 2025 which mark the University’s highest recognition of alumni achievement and will be conferred every five years. We highlight the 2025 winners from SMU School of Accountancy.

On 1 November 2025, the SMU School of Accountancy (SOA) faculty, students and alumni from the Master of Professional Accounting (MPA) and Master of Science in Accounting (Data & Analytics) (MSA) Programmes took part in Walk of a Lifetime 2025, an annual autism advocacy event organised by St Andrew’s Autism Centre (SAAC).

SMU Accountancy graduate Kunal Doshi discovered his interest in crypto during his second year in the School of Accountancy. Today, he finds his background in accounting highly relevant to his current role in a crypto firm, and the soft skills gained in SMU serving him well for his frequent public speaking engagements.

After graduating from the SMU School of Accountancy, Kenneth Murwanto began his career in corporate tax in Singapore. 12 years on, he’s now a Partner at Grant Thornton US. Kenneth shares insights on his role, the motivations behind settling down in the US, and how SMU has helped him build the confidence to be bold.

As a banker, a father of two and an adjunct lecturer with the SMU School of Accountancy, Adjunct Lecturer of Accounting Gary Daniel Low, ACA CFA CMA has his hands full.
