Cheng Qiang Scholarship

Celebrating SOA’s Achievements in Education and Research under the Leadership of Lee Kong Chian Chair Professor Cheng Qiang
Under the leadership of our current Dean Cheng Qiang, we have reached new milestones that mark the distinguished achievements in SOA education and research.
The School has attained a global reputation in research, evidenced by our significant improvement in the School’s Brigham Young University (BYU) Accounting Research Rankings. SOA has been ranked 1st in the world for Archival Financial Research for the past 4 years, rising 28 places since 2017 when the ranking was first introduced.
In the area of education, the School has launched a suite of new Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Doctoral programmes over the past 10 years. These include: two second majors (Accounting Data and Analytics and Financial Forensics); Work Study Electives; the Master of Science in Accounting (Data and Analytics); the Doctor of Business Administration (Accounting and Finance) with Zhejiang University; and the PhD programme in Accounting.
During his two terms serving as SOA Dean, Prof Cheng has demonstrated exceptional drive and commitment. Undoubtedly, his stewardship has paved the way for SOA to becoming the leading accounting school in Asia in thought leadership and accounting education.
