Foodxervices was established in 2007 and operates mainly in the food and beverage (F&B) industry, providing a one-stop shop for its customers who are seeking unique products and solutions. Currently, Foodxervices serves a variety of businesses ranging from hawkers, cafes and confectioneries to hotels and even airlines. Their product categories include frozen, fresh, chilled, dry goods, non-food and alternative protein. The company also offers value adding services such as customised meat preparation done by their in-house butchery and breaking of bulk packaging in their packaging & production facility.

Problem

Inaccurate data entry of the sales order by the customer service team has resulted in unnecessary delivery and inventory cost. The team’s goal is to automate the sales ordering process, which will eliminate the need for manual data entry and therefore reduce the errors and cost incurred.

Overall, this project provided us with the opportunity to learn and work hand in hand with the FoodXervices team. We were exposed to various data structures and had to make sure that our solution will fulfill the needs of the customers and remains sustainable for the company. Though we were exposed to many challenges, we are grateful to be able to apply the data analytics tools that we have learnt in the classroom and make a real difference.
